Disaster and Emergency Management

Disaster and Emergency Management

ProSource provides a full range of specialized Disaster and Emergency Management services to our clients. These services demand a working knowledge and thorough understanding of the ever-evolving technical and regulatory issues, as well as the rules, policies and procedures involving the stringent requirements of state and federal funding, including the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) / Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP), the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) / Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) programs and the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970, as amended (Uniform Act).

Recovering from a disaster takes a major toll on cities, counties, states and their communities and residents. ProSource has learned through experience that it is best if there is an approved system in place to guide the emergency response and relief activities. ProSource disaster management services have been used to help communities, individuals, families and businesses recover and rebuild. ProSource works closely with state and federal agencies, and clients to develop effective policies and procedures, providing a work-plan for communities recovering from disasters. ProSource has the experience to establish a proven process, handle program issues and implement methods in real time to quickly accommodate and adapt to changes. The experience of ProSource to prepare and audit policies and procedures for disaster management is guided by our hands-on work experience from Hurricane Sandy in NY and the floods in Cedar Rapids, IA.

ProSource’s proven capacity to deliver high quality services to those in need and its ability to continue doing so yields unmatched value to the funding recipient and members of the affected communities. Moreover, ProSource’s business model includes bringing its subject matter experts to the impacted communities. The vast majority of our disaster recovery staff are then recruited from the local communities. We have identified the skill sets needed for the required services and we train local employees to assist in bringing relief to disaster survivors. In our experience, having neighbors help neighbors recover not only brings the requisite empathy to our projects but also helps keep the federal relief dollars in the local communities, thereby further stimulating economic recovery.
